What to expect when you call — and what you can ask for.
A company you applied to uses Grace, an AI voice built by Talk Society, to run first interviews by phone. Here is the whole of it, in plain words.

Grace is an AI, not a person
She will tell you that herself at the start of the call. She is not an employee of the company and she is not pretending to be one.

You choose when to call
Any hour, any day. The interview takes about twenty minutes. If you get cut off, ring back and she will pick up where you were.

It is kept only if you agree
The line records from the moment it connects, so her question and your answer are on it. Grace asks before she asks you anything else, and waits for your answer. If you say no, the interview does not go ahead and the recording and everything from the call are deleted.

A person makes the decision
Grace writes notes and a score for the company. Someone on their team reads them and decides. Grace cannot reject you or hire you.

You can ask for a person instead
Say so at any point. Grace will end the call politely and the company will be told you would prefer to speak to someone.

Your data, and how to delete it
The recording, the transcript and the notes are kept for 180 days by default (some employers keep hiring records longer, as the law requires). To see or delete yours, email the address below.
What she asks
Things you have actually done.
Grace asks about the job first — honestly, including the hard parts — and then about your experience: “tell me about a time you…”, and a follow-up or two. She is not testing how confident you sound. Specific answers, with a name or a number or a date in them, are what help you.
If you mention other people, their names are removed from the notes the company reads.
